GLH Interiors, in collaboration with Slab Studio, is behind the design of Joburg’s newest co-working space, Perch.
The Perch co-working environment has been designed to facilitate collaboration between the members who are hiring the office space. The layout was designed in order to encourage a creative and playful work environment, while focusing on the importance of comfort and usability. Each zone within the space was designed keeping in mind the different ways in which people tend to work.
The open space is a combination of private and communal areas. There is a mix of open desks and collaborative tables, screened desks for the more private user, semi-private booths and seating areas for impromptu meetings. There are also enclosed phone booths for private calls and meeting rooms, as well as a central raised lounge area available for special events.
All of the furniture featured in the space was locally produced, with the wall planters designed by Joe Paine. On display is art by local artist Mbongeni Fakudze, as well as pieces by artists connected to the South African Foundation for Contemporary Art (SAFFCA).
Perch is located at 37 Bath Avenue, Rosebank, Joburg. For more information, visit perchoffices.co.za.
